Play Ball

“Play Ball”.  On July 16 a number of Springwater Sports Heritage Hall of Fame Inductees enjoyed an evening of recognition at the ballpark courtesy of the Barrie Baycats (2014 IBL Champions and 2015 League leaders). 

To their delight three Athlete Inductees, Corby Adams, Tim Belcourt and Michelle Simpson-Leigh were honoured to throw out a ceremonial first pitch.  Sylvia Forgrave representing her recently deceased husband 2014 Athlete Inductee Mike Forgrave, and members of the: 1996 Diamond Senior Ladies Ontario Curling Championship Team (Dorrie  Fiegehen,  Marlene Tinney and Ev McFadden);  1964-65 Alex Currie Pontiac Juvenile Hockey Championship Team (Bob Burnett and Nelson Woods);  1977 Elmvale Merchants Men’s Fastball Championship Team (Doug McMann, Brian Handy, Don Ritchie, Den Turner) were present and joined Corby, Tim and Michelle on the diamond.
