Michael Conn
Michael passed away, with his family at his side, at the Barrie Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Monday, January 30, 2023 in his 77th year, following a courageous battle with cancer.
2014 Inductee - 1964-65 Alex Currie Pontiac Juvenile Hockey Championship Team
The Elmvale and area sporting community was saddened to learn of the passing of this talented hockey player. Mike was a significant contributor to the recognized legacy of the Conn family's sporting history. With twin brother Jim and younger brother George as teammates they accomplished an outstanding and unparalleled achievement as members of the 1964-65 Juvenile "C" Ontario championship team. Not only did this "C" division team experience an undefeated season they won games against "A" division competition. Mike as well as Jim were tenacious checkers and defensive stalwarts. How pleased Mike was to have lived this success with two of his brothers as teammates. After his playing days Mike coached his son during his minor hockey years. Mike also loved horses and was proud of showing his 6-Horse Clydesdale team at many events. In addition, he and his wife enjoyed extensive travel to many and varied destinations.
