Grant Ritchie
Grant passed away at the Barrie Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Monday November 19, 2018 in his 81st year.
2016 Inductee- 1955/56 Elmvale Juvenile Hockey Provincial Champions
Springwater Sports Heritage mourns the loss of another admirable Inductee. It is with great sorrow that Springwater Sports Heritage received the news that Grant had passed away. He was a significant contributor to hockey and his teams at all levels throughout his lengthy hockey career in Elmvale. Notably Grant’s most cherished milestone would likely be his outstanding contribution to the 1955/56 Elmvale Juvenile Team that was successful in being the first Elmvale Team to win a Provincial Championship. Following this celebrated achievement Grant’s hockey passion continued for many years as he went on to win numerous additional and notable championships at the Intermediate level which was followed by another distinguished career as a Hockey Old-timer. Grant will be missed by his many Teammates and be remembered for his major role in ensuring Elmvale always had a very competitive Team.
