Evelyn (Ev) McFadden passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie.
2014 Inductee 1996 Diamond Senior Ladies Ontario Curling Championship Team
Springwater Sports Heritage once again mourns the loss of another Honoured Hall Of Fame Inductee. Ev was an accomplished retired curler of the Elmvale Curling Club. She played “Lead” position as a member of the 1996 Diamond Senior Ontario Championship team that won the Elmvale Curling Club’s only provincial championship. Springwater Sports Heritage at its 2014 Inaugural Induction Ceremony was privileged to recognize the Curling Team’s achievements and induct Ev, along with her fellow team members, into their Hall Of Fame. Just two short years later, at its next biennial Hall Of Fame Induction, Springwater Sports Heritage was pleased to recognize and receive Ev’s husband into the Hall as a Builder. Elmer was an outstanding and long term administrator within the Ontario Minor Hockey Association. As a result of this twofold exceptional occurrence they established an Inductee milestone as the first married couple to be inducted into the Springwater Sports Heritage Hall Of Fame. Ev might quietly make the reminder that she got there first.
