Maurice Partridge Highlights
1960 - onwards: Maurice began helping out Oro Minor Hockey Associationas a coach and manager and continued to do so for several years. He played a big part in the managing of the teams, rescheduling games, taking care of the ice at , and of course being a taxi to all the young players.
As well, during this time his partner and he owned “Partridge Tractor Service”, and they were team sponsors on many separate occasions, helping provide team sweaters.
1982-83: The Oro Minor Hockey Juveniles won the OMHA All Ontario “C” Division Championships. Partridge Tractor Service was the team sponsor. Known in the earlier years, as The Oro White Tractor Juveniles.
M.P.P. Allan K. McLean issued a Certificate of Recognition to Maurice and the team on behalf of the Province of Ontario for this great achievement.
1977: Maurice took the position of manager for the newly established Oro 77’s a local Junior “C” team. Clarence Smith was the coach. He continued to manage the team for ten years.
1988: Maurice was inducted into the Vespra Hall of Fame for appreciation of all his dedication to the sport of hockey in Oro.
2014: Inducted into the Springwater Sports Heritage Hall of Fame
