Born and raised in the Township of Springwater, George has proven himself to be committed the development of young people in his community. He has always believed that being a better citizen is as important as becoming a better player. George drives young people to become leaders in the community, and to be involved with building a brighter future. His passion for sports has channelled into great community involvement; he pushes the players of the future to do the same. “George has always believed in the Field of Dreams”- Brenda Handy.

Narrative: 

George Conn’s dedication to his sport of choice is beyond measure; he has shown this for over five decades. A champion in his league many times throughout the 1960’s, George even received in invitation to the Kitchener Ranger’s training camp. As a coach, he was awarded the coveted Silverstick, as well as being awarded the Earl Vollick Memorial Trophy twice. He has trained and coached many young players who have gone on to be coaches themselves.  George is a true leader in our community.
