Frank Foyston Highlights


1908-1910:  Played for the Barrie Athletic Club in the OHA Junior League.

1910-1911:  Played for the Barrie Athletic Club in the OHA Senior League.

1911-1912:  Played for the Toronto Eaton’s.

1912-1915:  Played for the Toronto Blueshirts of the National Hockey Association. He won
                      the Stanley Cup with Toronto in 1914.

1915-1924:  Played for the Seattle Metropolitans of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association.
                      He was in the Stanley Cup finals three times, winning the Cup in 1917.

1918-1919:  Called into WW1 service in the spring of 1918 and training with the air force in
                      Toronto by the summer.

1924-1926:  Played for the Victoria Cougars of the Western Canada Hockey League. He won
                      the Stanley Cup in 1925, the last non-NHL team to win the Cup.

1926-1928:  Played for the Detroit Cougars of the National Hockey League as well as the
                      Detroit Olympics of the Canadian Professional Hockey League.

1928-1930:  Played for the Detroit Olympics of the Canadian Professional Hockey League
                      plus started his coaching career while still playing.

1930-1931:  Coached the Syracuse Stars.

1931-1932:  Coached the Bronx Tigers.

1932-1935:  Coached the Seattle Sea Hawks of the Northwest Hockey League.

1958:  Elected to National Hockey League Hall of Fame.

1986:  Inducted into the State of Washington Sports Hall of Fame

 

1999:  Inducted into Barrie Sports Hallof Fame

2014:  Inducted into Springwater Sports Heritage Hall of Fame .
